DLSMHSI Research SERVICES AGENDA
FOR A.Y. 2024-2029
HEALTH TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION

This research agenda focuses on developing, evaluating, and implementing advanced health technologies to enhance healthcare delivery, improve patient outcomes, and optimize health systems. It explores innovations in digital health (e.g., telemedicine, machine learning, AI in diagnostics), medical devices, diagnostics, and therapeutics. The agenda highlights the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration to translate scientific discoveries into practical, scalable solutions, while addressing challenges related to regulatory compliance, cost-effectiveness, and user-adoption.

This research agenda aims to investigate the impact of dietary patterns, food quality, and nutrient intake on public health, with a focus on preventing diet-related diseases and promoting overall well-being. It prioritizes research on food safety, sustainable nutrition practices, and the development of guidelines to ensure safe consumption of food across diverse populations.
The agenda encompasses studies on how dietary habits affect health, the prevention of foodborne illnesses, and the development of standards and practices that promote food safety from farm to table. It also addresses challenges such as food contamination, nutrient preservation, and the safety of emerging food technologies. Through a multidisciplinary approach, this research agenda seeks to provide evidence that shapes policies and practices aimed at protecting public health and enhancing the nutritional quality of food systems.

DISEASE PREVENTION AND PUBLIC HEALTH

This research agenda is dedicated to advancing strategies that prevent diseases and promote the overall health and well-being of populations. It focuses on identifying risk factors, developing preventive interventions, and implementing public health policies to reduce the incidence of chronic and infectious diseases. The agenda covers a broad range of topics, including vaccination programs, health education, lifestyle interventions, and environmental health. By leveraging data-driven approaches and interdisciplinary collaboration, this research aims to enhance the effectiveness of public health initiatives, improve health equity, and create healthier communities.
This research agenda is centered on understanding, preventing, and controlling infectious diseases that pose significant threats to global health. It focuses on investigating the mechanisms of disease transmission, pathogen evolution, and host immune responses, as well as developing innovative diagnostic tools, vaccines, and therapeutic strategies. The agenda addresses both emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases, considering the impact of factors such as antimicrobial resistance, climate change, and global travel. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, this research aims to enhance public health preparedness and response, reduce disease burden, and improve health outcomes worldwide.
INFECTIOUS DISEASES
This research agenda focuses on exploring how mental health impacts learning and how educational and healthcare environments can promote mental well-being. It aims to understand the factors that influence mental health among students, educators, healthcare workers, and staff, and to develop strategies for fostering positive mental health in both educational and clinical settings. The agenda encompasses studies on the early identification of mental health issues, evidence-based interventions, and the role of school, hospital, and community support systems. It also investigates the prevalence, causes, and impact of mental health issues among learners, teachers, healthcare providers, and staff, while developing and evaluating interventions that support mental wellness in schools, higher education institutions, and healthcare facilities. By integrating mental health into educational and clinical practices and policies, this research seeks to enhance the overall learning and working experiences and outcomes for all individuals.
